Compton Verney is a unique blend of art gallery, landscape and experience set in a Robert Adam mansion surrounded by a 120 acre Capability Brown-designed Park of meadows, woodland and wild places to roam.
In addition to regularly changing temporary exhibitions there are six permanent art collections. Compton Verney is home to the largest collection of Folk Art in Britain and the collection of Neapolitan art from the Golden Age of Baroque Painting (1600–1800) is considered the best in Europe outside Naples.
We will have refreshments on arrival, followed by a guided tour of the collection. There is a café where you can take lunch and also a well stocked gift shop.
After lunch there will be further time to explore the galleries; or you may prefer to explore the beautiful grounds, which include a sensory dye garden, a sculpture trail, a lakeside bird hide, an ice house and a Capability Brown-designed Chapel.
