The Painting Secrets of Freud and Bacon

An Evocation of Freud and Bacon

In this lecture Alice White tackles two giants of British figure painting: Lucian Freud and Francis Bacon.  Full of paint, passion and personality, the content is a celebration of the chaotic and the carnal, evoking the spirit of the 1960s Soho nightlife which fuelled their personalities and stimulated their creative competition.

Alice White is a contemporary oil-painter, and a Tutor at the University of the Arts London and University College London.  As well as her accreditation as a Lecturer for The Arts Society, she has provided Guest Lectures at Kings College London, The Art Workers' Guild and the Courtauld Institute of Art.  Alice’s solo show 'A New Wave' documented her year’s residency as Artist for Animals at ZSL London Zoo.  She regularly exhibits at the Mall Galleries in London.

Awards include the Russell and Chapple Prize for an Outstanding work in Oils (Royal Society of Marine Artists 2017) and the Time Space Money Bursary (A-n The Artist Information Company/Arts Council England 2020).
